After promising fans that skill based matchmaking wouldn't be used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 one user has test this and it doesn't seem to be quite as open.
Treyarch made a splash with the Black Ops 7 Community by introducing Open Matchmaking via a Special Playlist. The entire community praised this move. Black Ops 7 implemented open matchmaking defaultly after testing skill matchmaking once again (which was still disliked by everyone).
However, after the release, players began to suspect that it wasn't as accessible as they hoped. This is despite the promises of a "minimal skill factor."
Youtuber XclusiveReloaded tried this out, comparing the games on his account to a new one. The tests found the ping to be significantly lower when using their high-tiered accounts than it was on the newly created account.
This shows in some instances skill difference was considered over ping. In turn, this results in different gameplay experiences depending on skill level. XclusiveReloaded agrees with the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops III is a more enjoyable experience, but it's a significant step down from its beta version.
ModernWarzone tweeted: "Just saw Ace's whole SBMM Video and... Not looking good." Treyarch is expected to respond by saying that the results of Ace's SBMM video show that skill has been taken into account in his matchmaking.
DougDagnabbit the owner at ModernWarzone says, "These are genuinely such sad results." It's also been demonstrated that skill in some instances is more important than the ping. This should never be the case.
